The locomotive was delivered within six months of signing the contract.

BorsodChem became the first CZ LOKO customer in Hungary to purchase the four-axle EffiShunter 1000 shunting locomotive.

The new locomotive was delivered six months after the contract was signed. Delivery time, price, operating costs, and safety all played an important role in the tender.

The EffiShunter 1000 marks the start of the planned renewal of the Hungarian chemical giant’s locomotive fleet. The locomotives will be used on sidings at the plant site in the city of Kazincbarcika in the northeast of the country.

For CZ LOKO, which has been operating in Hungary since the summer of 2017, BorsodChem is a completely new customer and the first typical user of sidings here. Other carriers in the country, such as CER Cargo Holding, Magyar Vasúti Áruszállító (MVÁ) or Prvá Slovenská železničná (PSŽ), also use Czech locomotives.

To date, CZ LOKO has produced 1,243 locomotives and special rolling stock in its plants in Česká Třebová and Jihlava, 428 of which are in service abroad. The EffiShunter 1000 locomotives have been in production since 2018 and are currently one of the company’s flagship products.
