Decommissioned buses, trams, and trolleybuses have left the Czech Republic to boost public transport service in Kharkiv.

Several Czech cities have pledged to donate their public transport vehicles to help restore public transport in Kharkiv after the Saltivka depot was destroyed by Russia. Buses, trams, and trolleybuses that were originally destined for the scrapyard are now headed east instead. All of the vehicles are fully functional and can be used for several more years.

The Brno public transport company DPMB has donated three trolleybuses. The 14Tr vehicles the city would otherwise decommission were loaded onto trucks and should reach Kharkiv in two days. Brno plans to donate three more 14Tr trolleybuses as well as two T3 trams.

The Plzeň public transport company PMDP has donated seven buses to help the Kharkiv fleet. The two articulated buses, two 15-meter buses, and three shorter vehicles have arrived in Ukraine already. PMDP is working on donating two trolleybuses as well.

The Prague public transport company DPP has donated twenty trams to help the war-torn city of Kharkiv. The first four have left for Ukraine today. The company will donate five T3SUCS trams, fifteen T6A5 trams, a Karosa B951, and an Irisbus Citelis 18M articulated bus to its Ukrainian counterparts. The buses will be used in the western Ukrainian city of Khmelnytskyi. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov approached Prague City Hall with a request for help.
