Bombardier completed deliveries of Traxx locomotives for RegioJet planned for this year. Operator took over the fourth engine on Friday, it worked on Sunday service from Prague to Opava for the first time. It returned to Prague on Monday morning.
RegioJet received first two Traxxes in April, the third worked on September 12th service from Prague to Vienna for the first time. The new locomotives are primarily deployed on services to Vienna or Bratislava. They are also used for heavy trains to Košice.
The forth delivery allowed the company to return one of (non-yellow) leased Vectron locomotives. RegioJet currently employs five Siemens Vectrons, four Bombardier Traxxes and nine Škoda class 162.1 locomotives.
RegioJet has eight Bombardier locomotives on order including the one already handed over. There is also option for twenty more. “We want to decide on exercising the option until the end of year,” spokesperson Aleš Ondrůj said.
