The CZK 1.95 billion contract follows an earlier one under which Skoda Ekova worked on the same type of trams.

Skoda Transportation Group won a contract to repair 80 trams which operate in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Swedish transport operator Västtrafik has concluded a contract with Skoda for the revision and repair of M31 trams. The work will take place in Ostrava, where Skoda’s subsidiary Ekova will continue its previous cooperation with Sweden. Repairs will begin this year and last until 2027. The contract value is CZK 1.95 billion.

The contract follows an earlier order in which the company worked on the same type of trams. Between 2011 and 2017, as Ekova Electric, the company carried out repairs on 79 M31 trams for Gothenburg. Between 2017 and 2021, Ekova repaired mechanical parts on 65 M32 trams.

In 2021, the company was incorporated into the Skoda Group and its name was changed to Skoda Ekova.
