Slovak city of Prešov to acquire six articulated trolleybuses from Škoda

The new hybrid vehicles will be battery-powered.
The Czech Škoda Group will deliver six more trolleybuses to Prešov, Slovakia. The 18-meter vehicles will expand the current fleet of 25 Škoda trolleybuses acquired in the past years as contracted in 2016.
The city’s transport company Dopravný podnik Mesta Prešov ordered hybrid vehicles that can travel a minimum of 12 kilometers outside the trolley wire.
“Slovakia has long been our key market,” said Petr Novotný, President Components and Bus Mobility, Škoda Group. The Czech-made trolleybuses are a part of the local urban transport fleets in eg. Bratislava, Žilina, and Bánská Bystrica.
The company will deliver fully low-floor air-conditioned Škoda 27Tr vehicles equipped with Wi-Fi, USB ports, passenger counters, and CCTV security systems to Prešov.
