Smartwings Boeing starts flying in new Prague Airport livery
The unconventional livery is intended to interest tourists in flights to Prague.
Smartwings has put into service a Boeing 737-800 in special livery commemorating 85 years since the start of operations at Prague Airport.
“With the Prague Loves You theme we want to encourage tourists to travel to Prague again. Livery will travel to dozens of destinations where it will promote the capital for the next two years,” said Prague Airport spokesperson Eva Krejci.
The aircraft was painted at East Midlands Airport, UK, from where it returned yesterday afternoon. It has already flown to Hurghada and back in the evening, and is scheduled to fly to Reykjavik today. The plane is 17 years old.
In the past, Czech Airlines flew a plane with a special advertisement for a visit to Prague, at that time Prague paid for the unusual form of marketing. Prague Airport has not publicized the advertising costs.
