Transdev will take over local public transport operations.

SOR Libchavy has obtained another large contract in Slovakia. It will supply a total of 43 buses to Transdev in the design for public transport in Trencin. The new buses will start operating in September.

The delivery will include 38 SOR NSG 12 buses and five SR NSG 18 articulated buses. The cooperation between Transdev and SOR in Slovakia is strengthening; at the end of 2021, eighty new vehicles were handed over to the carrier for operation in Nitra.

The contract is worth around €12 million. The buses are due by the end of August 2022, as Transdev will take over local public transport operations from September 1, 2022 for a period of 10 years. Public transport lines in Slovakia’s ninth largest city are now operated by SAD Trencin.

The buses will be designed in red and white, respecting the colors of the city, and the Trencin city logo will also appear on the seat upholstery. The buses will be filled with gas in a newly built CNG station constructed by Transdev in cooperation with the city. The vehicles will be equipped with air conditioning, USB chargers and an information system. The more modern buses are intended to help get people back to public transport.
