The company’s first locomotive includes ETCS, camera system and flashing beacons.
The Metrostav Group member Subterra has purchased its first work train transporting locomotive. On Friday, it took delivery of a new EffiShunter 1000 manufactured by CZ LOKO. The locomotive is ETCS-equipped, and Subterra claims to be the first Czech construction company to acquire such a machine. The contract was signed April 2021, and includes the option to purchase additional machines.
The new machine will be used to transport construction materials and track machinery. Current Subterra contracts include the improvement of the Mstetice – Praha-Vysocany section, the electrification and double-tracking of the Brno – Zastavka u Brna line, or the electrification and upgrading of the Unicov – Olomouc line. The company also operates in Slovakia and Hungary.
Up to now, CZ LOKO has sold close to 50 EffiShunter 1000 locomotives. In addition to ETCS, the EffiShunter 1000 for Subterra is also equipped with the MIREL national train control system, allowing operation in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The locomotive is also equipped with a camera system and flashing beacons.
